Welcome.
My name is Danielle, and I am so glad that you’ve found your way here.
My online counselling and psychotherapy space is named after the Japanese word, Komorebi; the fleeting sunlight that filters through leaves of a tree. Having spent most of my life in Japan, I have a deep respect for its culture. Komorebi captures something about what it means to be human: the layering of ‘light’ and ‘shadow’, movement and stillness, clarity and uncertainty. Life can feel like walking through dappled light. Therapy offers a companioned, steady place to pause, reflect, and find your way forward.
I offer compassionate, pluralistic counselling and psychotherapy that is shaped around your experiences and identity. Whether you’re feeling overwhelmed, disconnected, adjusting to change, or searching for direction, this is a space where both the light and the shadow are welcome.
I offer 1:1, ONLINE counselling and psychotherapy to clients - meeting you where you’re at.
You might be:
adjusting to a new country
a student studying abroad
someone thinking about relocating
a frequent traveller living between places
a third-culture individual who doesn’t fit ‘neatly’ into one identity
someone from a military family familiar with constant moves and change
a person returning “home” and finding it no longer fits
People also come to therapy for:
anxiety or persistent worry
shame and guilt
depression
low self-esteem or low self-worth
navigating neurodiversity
loneliness or disconnection
cultural identity
gender identity
pressure, burnout, or stress
relationship or family difficulties
feeling stuck or directionless
questions about meaning, purpose, or belonging
This list is not exhaustive, it’s just a sense of the areas we can explore.
You absolutely do not need to have clarity, or even to know what your goals might be before reaching out. Sometimes the work begins with simply noticing that something feels unsettled or unfamiliar, even if you can’t yet name it.
